MSsymptoms: Traveling with Multiple Sclerosis

MIFall

Planning a trip can be a nail-bitting experience for me. Living in Alaska, it is so expensive to go anywhere. Adding to the cost is the uncertainty of my capabilities at the time of travel and during the trip due to multiple sclerosis. Confusion causes me to get lost. Memory issues makes it difficult to remember where and what I am doing. Vision issues have actually stranded me in Seattle with the rental car agency refusing to pick me up or allow anyone else to drive the car in for me. But when I finally do go and multiple sclerosis takes a back seat, my what fun it can be.

Every October I dream of my home state of Michigan. The fall colors, cider mills, crunch of the leaves beneath my feet all make me homesick for a taste of my childhood. It has been nearly 30 years since I spent a fall in Michigan until last month. What fun, what fun!  And MS took a backseat this time.
