The results of hNPCs or stem cells injected into mice with MS may pave the way for a future of multiple sclerosis treatments with remyelination possibilities. Mice unable to walk showed recovery signs in two weeks with “no signs of slowing down” (Science Daily) at six months. The “reduction in neuroinflammation, decreased demyelination, and enhanced remyelination” (University of Utah) may be the reason for the improved motor skills in the disabled mice. The transplant of hNPCs into mice showed a “powerful immunomodulatory effects and mediates recovery” (University of Utah).
