MS symptoms: Absent Stages in Process Memory

FallStairHands full, I passed through the door and advanced down the stairway. Upon reaching the second step my brain became confused and I began to walk rather than step. The air rushed into my lungs in one quick breath as I stepped into space and took a hard landing on the ground. This is my MS story. Surprise! One minute you are cruising out the door, the next, falling down the stairs.

One of the MS difficulties is absent stages in process memory. Once the brain learns a task we complete it without thought; the brain takes over through process memory as we complete tasks such as walking, eating, holding silverware, and utilizing tools in daily life. The occurrence of lost stages is unpredictable and funny at times. Odd at others. There are times it is hits you like a ton of brinks when you are falling down the stairs not because you stumbled but instead because your brain forgot a step.
